Classes FAQs

What is your cancellation policy?

All tickets are non-refundable. But if you can't attend a class you've registered for, you can easily transfer your tickets to a friend or just have them check in with us under your name at the class! If given a minimum of three days (72-hour) notice, we are happy to issue you a class credit to use towards a future class. We have a lot of exciting upcoming classes scheduled, so it's always easy to find another class to use your credit on!

Are classes ever cancelled?

Rarely, but it does happen. If France 44 cancels a class we will provide a minimum of 48 hours notice and refund your purchase to the original form of payment.

Do I need to bring a ticket or print out with me to my class?

No need! We will have your name on our class list and a place reserved for you at a table.

What’s the vibe like during a class? Should I be taking notes or is this social hour?

We offer a variety of different classes with diverse vibes. Most classes will have a "class type" in their description like the following:
Take Notes! These are our classic "lecture-styled" classes, where you're given lots of in-depth information by a knowledgeable instructor. Anyone is welcome to attend, but these classes are geared toward folks with more than a passing interest in the subject.
Hands-On! These are our most involved and participatory classes, where you get the opportunity to learn a hands-on skill. Anyone can do it, though--no prior experience required to attend!
Social Hour | These are our "education lite" classes--a fun, social atmosphere where you'll walk away with new information, but are still able to enjoy time with your friends in a casual setting.
Demo & a Meal! | These classes will feature one of our expert instructors demonstrating kitchen techniques and skills for you to replicate at home! Come hungry, you'll be well fed!

Any tips to make my class more enjoyable?

Please be prompt! We pack our classes full with lots of delicious things to taste and things to learn, and we want to make sure you get in on all of it. Look for the right class type, as well. If you want to talk and socialize, look for a Social Hour class type, and, conversely, if you want deep dives into topics, look for the Take Notes! class type.

What time should I arrive?

Doors open 15 minutes before class begins -- Arrive early and enjoy your welcome beverage next to the fireplace in our Event Space Lounge or, if it’s nice, outside on the patio.

Where should I park?

Parking in the France 44 lot is very limited, and the center spots are 30 minutes only. However, there is ample parking on 44th Street, France Ave, and Drew Ave S. Please refer to THIS MAP for more parking information!

Should I eat dinner before class?

Unless a meal is mentioned in the class description, light snacks or a cheese plate will be provided. We encourage you to eat beforehand or grab a sandwich in the cheese shop before heading up to class if you're looking for something more substantial.

Are you able to accommodate dietary restrictions?

Absolutely. Please let us know of any allergies before class by emailing austin@france44.com

Can I sit with my friends?

Of course! If you would like to sit next to another attendee who has registered separately, please email austin@france44.com with your preferences and we'll be sure to seat you together.

Do you offer private classes?

We sure do! We love hosting friends, colleagues, families, or any combination thereof. Choose from one of our classes that we regularly offer or ask us to put together a class tailored for you and your crew. Email events@france44.com for more information.

I'd like to buy a class for someone as a gift but not exactly sure of how to pick a class for them. What are my options?

Your best bet is our handy gift-a-class. You pick the dollar amount and then they can redeem it whenever and for whichever class they like.
