Class Type: Hands-On! | These are our most involved and participatory classes, where you get the opportunity to learn a hands-on skill. Anyone can do it, though--no prior experience required to attend!
WHAT YOU'LL GET IN THIS CLASS:

- Hands on experience developing knife skills, cooking, and learning the fundamentals of cooking
- Prepare a dinner from scratch that you will enjoy with a beverage at the end of class

Join Chef Nora in this interactive class, where we will explore the relationships between salt, acid, fat, and heat and learn how to turn simple dishes into stunning ones. Nora will teach you how to cook intuitively by understanding how salt, fat, acid, and heat change the flavor of foods and improve your intuition as a cook. We'll also cover some basic knife skills and cuts as we slice, stir, and sauté our way to dinner. Along the way, you'll also learn some elementary food science that will make you a smarter (and better) cook. Whether you're a seasoned cook looking to brush up on the basics or a novice with a tenuous grasp on how to boil water, your taste buds will be your guide in this fun fundamentals class.
IMPORTANT STUFF:
- Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a class you have registered for, registration may be transferable to another France 44 class if given a 48+ hour notice.
- Please notify France 44 with any dietary restrictions or preferences.
- Parking in our lot is limited, however, parking is available on 44th Street, France Ave, and Drew Ave S.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR:
Nora Dummer
Nora is a postpartum personal chef, caterer, and food writer who has taught cooking classes to kids and adults since 2013. She studied nutrition and culinary arts at Bastyr University and after 20 soggy years in Seattle, has returned to Minnesota to share her love of food and to convince her two young children to love any food at all.
