Join us for a 2-day marathon of mini wine classes! Whether you're brand-new to wine or have geeked out about it for years, there's a 30-minute class (or 2 or 3) that will suit everyone. Join us for as many mini classes as you like!

Get introduced to France 44 Education, our educators, and all the programs and courses we have to offer. This is a great chance to dip your toe into something new, or take the plunge into a deliciously nerdy world.

What will you get with each class?

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Blind Tasting & Quality| 10.16, 6pm | Allison Sheardy | Learn how to "blind taste" wines using WSET's Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) at different levles, and how blind tasting can help you assess & look at wines in an unbiased manner--and why this is an important skill to have!

Orange Wines! | 10.16, 8pm | Josh Timmerman | Orange wines have come back from antiquity to capture the hearts and palates of hipster restaurants and wine geeks everywhere--but what is it, and what do you do with it? Find out how orange wines are made, what they taste like, and the best use for them on your dinner table.

The World of Pinot Noir | 10.17, 5pm | Hailey White | Discover the many different styles of one of the world's most loved grapes: Pinot Noir. From France to Germany to the US of A, we'll cover Pinot Noir's most renowned growing regions.

Bubbly Basics | 10.17, 6pm | Nicole Collins-Kwong | Join Nicole for a brief history of sparkling wine and learn about the primary ways it can be made. We'll sample a few styles and learn about how the winemaking method impacts the final outcome of the wine.

Wines of the Finger Lakes | 10.17, 7pm | Josh Timmerman | This historic, stunningly beautiful wine region around a series of glacial lakes boasts everything from classic Rieslings to off-the-beaten-path pét-nats and experimental hybrids. Get to know the Finger Lakes' grapes, history, and bright future.

Vermouth: A Bitter Wine to Swallow | 10.17, 8pm | Kaleigh Swift | From medicine to popular aperitif, vermouth has become more than just a beverage--it's become an entire culture in countries like Spain, Italy, and France where it is popularly consumed. Join Kaleigh for a deliciously bitter range of vermouth styles and traditions!

IMPORTANT STUFF: 

  • Participants must be 21 years old.
  • Tickets are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a class you have registered for, registration may be transferable to another France 44 class if given a 48 hour notice.
  • Parking in our lot is limited, however, parking is available on 44th Street, France Ave, and Drew Ave S.
  • France 44 is wheelchair accessible.
