Take Notes! | These are our classic "lecture-styled" classes, where you're given lots of in-depth information by a knowledgeable instructor. Anyone is welcome to attend, but these classes are geared toward folks with more than a passing interest in the subject.
For over a quarter century, deep in the heart of Oaxaca, the Banhez Cooperative has been changing the lives of mezcaleros for the better. Machete in hand, these hardworking men and women are responsible for creating traditional mezcal, from harvesting the agaves, roasting the piñas to smoky perfections, and, of course, distilling mezcal. Few create distillers produce mezcal following traditional methods and at such exceptional quality like Banhez.
In short, Banhez is one of our favorite producers of mezcal. (Can't you tell?) In this class, we'll sip through their exceptional offerings, from their classic offerings to mezcals made from rare and wild agave. Whether you're a die hard agave nerd, or just want to try a little mezcal, this is a great way to pass an evening! We'll have light fare to snack on during the class, and all attendees will have special event pricing on the featured tequilas.
