Instructor: Troy Seefeldt

Class type: Take Notes! | These are our classic "lecture-styled" classes, where you're given lots of in-depth information by a knowledgeable instructor. Anyone is welcome to attend, but these classes are geared toward folks with more than a passing interest in the subject.

WHAT YOU'LL GET IN THIS CLASS:

  • A deep-dive, instructor-led tasting.
  • 7 wines all made exclusively from Gamay.
  • A chance to try the very first bottles of the 2026 vintage of Beaujolais Nouveau!
  • An individual cheese plate.
  • Special pricing on all featured wines.
  • Some lasting memories!
Calling all cork dorks! Come join us for a celebration of all things Beaujolais as we take a deep dive into a single grape varietal: Gamay! The Gamay grape was outlawed in Burgundy back in 1395, but we'll be going rogue and drinking exclusively Gamay in this class. We'll drink our way across a number of different crus to discover the incredible nuances Gamay can show. In addition, we'll also drink the very first bottles of this year's Beaujolais Nouveau!
As far back as the 1800s, French vintners and farmers drank Beaujolais Nouveau, a vin de primeur, or young wine, fermented just a few weeks after harvest. This arrival of this young wine is celebrated with great fanfare, from festivals to literal races to see who could get a case of it back to Paris the fastest. (Fun fact: In 1972, Minneapolis was the second US city to import Beaujolais Nouveau, and the first outside of New York.) Now, Beaujolais Nouveau is officially released the 3rd week of November, and is one of the wine industry's most exciting seasonal moments.
